Strategic Marketing Article - Getting
vocal on the web 5th April 2004
- use a voiceover to personalise your website and increase sales
Some people find computers threatening. The very presence of
a screen in the room gives them the shivers. Now, it's partly
because the thing reminds them of work that still needs doing,
or of hours spent in its company when the world carries on outside.
And it's partly the look of it - this big, gaping mouth that
lurks there in the corner, waiting for a feed. Read more...
What is the procedure?
We take a thorough brief from you, look at your literature and
web information and then produce the scripts. Our award winning
scriptwriters have written for radio for years and really know
how to deliver fluid, stimulating copy, so you are in safe hands.
Once the scripts meet with your approval, we will record and
mix the voice over and background
music that you have chosen from this site in our state of
the art digital recording studio. Once the audio is finished
our Web Programmer can either send you the audio files and a
pre designed colour matched sound player, or, if you are able
to give us your FTP details, we will do it ourselves. FTP access
codes will not be stored by us and will be deleted after use.
Your audio files will now load and play automatically when a
customer logs on to your site. Your web pages will also display
a discreet, but all so important "speech on/off" button.
Includes up to five audio files (max length 30 seconds)
The Basic Web Package is for customers whose traffic is
likely to be less than 20,000 unique hits per month.
Premier Web Package - £600.00
Includes up to ten audio files (max length 30 seconds)
The Premier Web Package is for customers whose traffic
is likely to be more than 20,000 unique hits a month.
The price increase for the Premier Package reflects the
rights usage deals that we have negotiated with our voice
artists.
Will our customers need an
MP3 player to listen to the audio?
No, the audio files are embedded into the code of your
web pages. The audio is created in a programme called Flash
and this does mean that your customers will require their
browser to be Flash enabled. This is not something to worry
about, as over 97% of web browsers have Flash installed *.
We looked at a number of encoding options and Flash is by
far the best method for ease of use and for audio quality.
Can I change the audio at a later date?
Yes you can. Changes in the Sound Player Basic Web
Package are charged at £70.00 per audio file. For the
Premier Web Package, changes are charged at £160.00
per audio file. Again, the higher rate has been negotiated
with our voice artists and reflects audience reach.
Why is there a twelve-month license fee to pay?
We have to pay a twelve-month license fee for production and
performance usage. The first twelve-month license is included
in the web package price. We have tried to keep the cost to
a minimum and charge only £65.00 for twelve-month license
renewals for the Basic Web Package and £280.00 for the
Premier Web Package. If, after the first year, you feel that
you no longer require the service, you are under no obligation
to renew. We just ask that you take the audio files down from
your site.
How do I order?
Simply fill out the form on the order
page and one of our sales team will contact you once we have
received it. If you would like to speak to a real person, call
us on 08456 44 20 88 between 9 am and 5 pm.
